Ride for a Reason Fundraiser

On October 4, 2023, our PTSA distributed $7,745 to support our Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores, Freshmen, and the Junior Jets program during Mr. Gorham’s Leadership class. This sum includes funds distributed earlier to the Class of 2023 prior to their graduation in the spring.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our school community for their support. We eagerly anticipate your continued participation in the upcoming Ride for a Reason 2024 event.

Encinal PTSA Supports College Fair

AUSD hosted its 31st Annual College Fair on Wednesday, October 4th, from 6-8 p.m. at the College of Alameda gymnasium. There were over 50 colleges and universities in attendance, providing a great opportunity for students to meet with college representatives in person to discuss post-secondary options after graduation. There were also representatives from the Armed Forces and our local community colleges. Over 500 students, parents and staff came from across the Island for this event. We worked closely with AHS, ASTI, St. Joe’s and the College of Alameda to make this opportunity available for our students. This is a wonderful annual event that is planned months in advance and supported by the Encinal PTSA.

Encinal PTSA Supports IslandHacks

On September 16th, Island-Hacks.org, organized by Encinal and Alameda High School students, hosted a successful Alameda-wide coding hackathon at the Encinal campus, drawing 80 high schoolers. Supported by sponsors like Exelixis, Encinal and Alameda PTSA, the event exceeded expectations. Half of the attendees were first-time website creators. Impressive projects, including a 3D game and simplified operating system, were showcased. Three winners received prizes, including custom keyboards and a computer. All participants got a T-shirt. IslandHacks plans a spring sequel to engage even more beginners.
